Cortney Vartanian is a Raleigh, NC based performer, choreographer, and dance educator. She holds a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography with K-12 Licensure from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Cortney has trained with and performed works by artists such as BJ Sullivan, Ronald K. Brown, Gus Giordano, Tamisha A. Guy, and Luis Dettling. As a dance artist and mentor, Cortney is passionate about crafting meaningful movement experiences that foster discovery, expression, and community. In addition to her work in dance, Cortney is a fitness instructor specializing in trampoline-based cardio and is certified in the Lagree Method. Cortney continues to create and share her work across North Carolina, connecting with movers of all ages. She joined Black Box Dance Theatre in 2025.
